Henry VIII remains one of the most prominent leaders of all time. As a young man he was both athletic and intellectual. As a seasoned King he became despotic and was corrupted by his own power.

For 474 years now, the Lord's Prayer has ended with "for Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory, forever and ever, AMEN!" King Henry VIII, of England, implemented that ending in 1538 AD and it has stayed the course all these years. Yet some have issue with, "one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all." How can that be? "God save America and her Constitution," that is my plea!!!

HOW OLD IS YOUR CHURCH? If you are Lutheran, your religion was founded by Martin Luther, an ex-monk of the Catholic Church, in 1517. He married a cloistered nun. If you belong to the Church of England, your religion was founded by a Catholic, King Henry VIII in year 1534, because the Pope would not grant a second dispensation to marry again. He ultimatley "married" five women, one being his illigitimate daughter, and died of syphilis. He also executed thousands of priests and nuns, and took possession of hundreds of Catholic churches monastaries, and lands. If you are a Presbyterian, your religion was founded by John Knox in Scotland in 1560. If you are a Protestant Episcopalian, your religion is an offshoot of the Church of England founded by Samuel Sebury in the American colonies in the 17th century. If you are a Congregationalist, your religion was originated by Robert Brown in Holland in 1582. If you are a Baptist, you owe the tenets of your religion to John Smyth, who launched it in Amsterdam in 1605. If you are of the Dutch Reformed church, you recognize Michaelis Jones as founder, because he originated your religion in New York in 1628. If you are a Methodist, your religion was launched by John and Charles Wesley in England in the year 1744. If you are a Unitarian, Theophilus Lindley founded your church in London in 1774. If you are Mormon (Latter Day Saints), Joseph Smith started your religion in Palmyra, New York, in 1829. If you worship with the Salvation Army, your sect began with William booth in London, 1865. If you are a Christian Scientist, you look to 1879 as the year in which your religion was born and to Mrs. mary Baker Eddy as it founder and to her bible she wrote. If you belong to one of the religious organizations known as "Church of the Nazarene," "Pentecostal Gospel," "Holiness Church," "Pilgrim Holiness Church," "Jehovah's Witnesses," your religion is one of hundres of new sects founded by men within the past century. If you are Catholic, you know that your founder religion was founded in the year 33 by Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, and it still the same Church.

A positive rant...We should celebrate our green and pleasant land! That of ancient legend, blue skies and chivalry. Our flag of Union, King Arthur and William Shakespeare. Queen Elizabeth I and Francis Drake. Of Remembrance at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, wearing our poppies with pride, standing firm for those who've carved their souls in our hearts defending our isle and the Police who uphold that freedom. The NHS and all work within. The Magna Carta and our principle of democratic government. A good old cuppa tea! Our freedom to speak, roam and do as we wish. Keats, Burns and Wordsworth. Our sense of fair play, along with our stiff upper lip. The English language - used throughout the world. A sense of humour that only we understand. Punching above our weight on the world stage while remaining too important to get left out. A full English breakfast, stilton, cheddar, pork pies, cornish pasties, kippers, black pudding, scotch whisky, cider and real ale. Roast sunday lunch, pic-nics, curry, fish and chips and every other food and drink we should defend when all the rest think they are superior. Afternoon tea, along with our Blitz and Dunkirk Spirit. Churchill, Henry V and Agincourt. Spitfires, Hurricanes and Lancasters - Keep Calm and Carry On. Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Lotus. Standards, Politeness and Manners. Harley Street, Carnaby Street, Princes Street, Downing Street. Edinburgh Castle, tattoo and Grey Friar's Bobby. Having had an Empire but being man (and smart) enough to stay friends afterwards. Telford, Brunel, Watt, Newton, Whittle, Dyson, Nelson, Jenner, Darwin, Nightingale, Wellington, Cromwell, Danger Mouse and Richard Branson. Our weather! Be it our 6 days of summer, or the rain at the weekend ruining the game, BBQ or a day at the seaside. Our annual failure to live under less than 1cm of snow without panicking. Our country houses, blocks of flats, cottages and housing estates. Wembley, Lords, Twickenham and Wimbledon. Tyneside, the Clyde and Devonport. Our RAF, Navy and Army. Help for Heroes. Red, White, Blue! The Red Arrows. Saints George, Andrew and David. British wit, sarcasm and irony (and that so many nations think they understand it but fail to realise the irony when we sarcastically confirm that they don't). Castles, Cathedrals, pomp and pageantry. Princess Diana, King Henry VIII, Queen Victoria and our Queen Elizabeth II. Big Ben, Guy Fawkes, Auld Lang Syne, Black Cabs, Red London buses, the BBC and British Bulldogs. Winning the 2012 Olympics just to spite the French. The "English" Channel. Greenwich Mean Time. 0 degrees where East and West originate. Hating the French but drinking their wine. Listening to the Australians in how good they are at our sports and then beating them comprehensively at Rugby, Cricket etc. Universities famed throughout the world. William Wallis and Robin Hood. Most of the best authors the word has known. 007, Harry Potter, Carry On films and Wallace and Grommet. Protecting our Falklands. Being prepared to queue and tut. Would everyone please show some respect. This country hasn't happened by accident. It is built on a foundation of trust. On morals and decency. If you feel some pride in our green and pleasant land, leave your contribution for the next generations. They too deserve to know that they live in Great Britain.
